Advocate for female hormonal wellness, YIN, launches in Singapore with a global expansion underway
YIN, a digital female healthcare platform that connects consumers to healthcare providers and educational, informative and approachable female health content, officially launched its services in Singapore Feb 2021.
The platform has partnered up with trusted local e-pharmacy logistics provider, GMedes, and locally licensed and registered doctors to offer its services to the national market with a global expansion underway.
Using its website yincare.co, YIN connects consumers with locally registered doctors to offer birth control pills which will then be delivered to a consumer’s home by their local e-pharmacy logistics provider partner. YIN focuses predominantly on birth control pills from brands such as Microgynon, Yasmin, Yaz, Mercilon and Diane-35, with more products to be introduced soon.
Umeera Maan, Co-Founder of YIN said, “Since going live in Singapore in December last year, we have seen a month-on-month growth rate at 80%. We are overwhelmed by the support from our customers and are ready to provide to more women in need of our service. We are currently doing test runs in Malaysia and plans for our Australian and New Zealand launch will be announced soon. In the long run, we hope to grow across South East Asia and the Asia Pacific.”
Since the COVID-19 pandemic waved across the globe, demand for non-traditional options like telemedicine is higher than ever. According to Verified Market Research, the Global Telehealth Market was valued at USD21.17 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach USD71.44 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 16.4% from 2020 to 2027. Women’s Health Market Size, Global Industry Report, 2027 showed that the global women’s health market size was valued at around USD32.00 billion in 2019 and is projected to increase at a CAGR of 4.9% over the same forecast period.
Sunil Parmar, also Co Founder of YIN said, “Leveraging on the massive growth potential of the global telehealth market, we decided to establish YIN to provide consumers with a safe and trusted space as well as seamless access to quality information pertaining to hormone health, sexual wellness and fertility. Not only that, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more crucial than ever for women’s health services to be accessible remotely.”
“Aside from that, as sensitive healthcare services are often stigmatised, YIN also aims to educate and to equip women all over the globe with the right knowledge and support on female healthcare topics and issues without fear or judgment.”
Dr Amanda Chen, an aesthetic doctor with years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology in public service is YIN’s first partner doctor in Singapore. She believes every woman should be in charge of their own sexuality and wellbeing, and should be able to talk about these freely and openly, especially with their healthcare providers. She hopes to play a part in breaking down societal barriers for women to talk without judgement in the space of sexual health and contraception.
YIN offers an affordable annual membership of SGD 52 (approximately USD 40) which covers unlimited online medical doctor consults and renewal of regular choice of birth control pills inclusive of free discreet delivery. The membership does not include the prescribed pills which will only be billed following a successful online consultation.
As the telemedicine industry expands in the global market, YIN, providing easy access to female healthcare and wellness, expects to roll to more countries across Asia Pacific and beyond.
